The EMG rig was purpose-built for hunters needing a way to carry a sidearm on the outside of their pack belt. Like our Monarch holster, the EMG is crafted with an 80/20 split design placing the flattest half of the holster toward the body and making it extremely comfortable to carry all day. It sports a natural curve that contours to the hip/belt serving to relieve inward torque. The mold injected clips mount securely to your pack belt and provide excellent stability so your sidearm isn’t excessively rocking back and forth. We extend the sweat guard up both sides of the firearm to protect it while moving through thick cover, and each EMG rig is set with a forward cant so your firearm naturally “presents” itself to your draw hand. Like all of our pistol holsters, the EMG features an adjustable retention system that balances a smooth draw stroke, while ensuring that your weapon stays secure when moving through rough country or taking off your pack. The EMG sports a closed muzzle design (or crowned on larger models) helping to keep your barrel free from debris and snow. Lastly, every Ivory EMG is infused with Irish whiskey and has been blessed by the spirit of Fred Bear to ensure peak hunting performance.
I just got back from Colorado Elk hunt using the EXO K3 with this holster. I had my FN 510 with a 15rd mag and vortex defender red dot, when taking off my pack I would put it down and the hip belts would flip back outwards and the would hit everything from sharp rock, gravel, concrete, dirt, mud and so on. This holster took every impact and protected my gun, there were times I thought for sure my gun would be beat to hell but nope it still looks new. Not only did it protect the gun but it held it tight not letting it slip out even when falling while side hilling.
I purchased a EMG holster for my Exo K4. The holster fits perfectly both on the pack and my pistol. The attention to detail and workmanship is spot on. Highly recommend this holster!

Worth every penny! Just received my EMG holster for my S&W M&P 40c. It fits like a glove. Unlike my other pack holster, this one is closed at the bottom, so I won’t be carrying around a sidearm full of fern pollen from the forests of the PNW. The EMG has the perfect amount of retention to keep it secured in the holster but doesn’t restrict my draw. This holster is also a perfect compliment to my EXO K3 pack. Looking forward using it on my next elk hunt.
I've had this holster for about 2 years and I've taken it through thick and thin. It's been on my side through scrub brush, rain forests, dusty mountain slopes, in tree stand harnesses and on backpack belts. It holds a Glock 20 securely, with a clean draw. I've never had the gun come loose but it's always easy to pull. I chose this holster above others on the market because of the extra coverage and protection it gives to the gun when going through the rough stuff. It also holds the gun nice and close to the hip which is a big plus for me. I had a lot of questions before purchasing and the owner proved to be a great guy to work with.
